Rose pruning and frost
This is probably a daft question, but when gardening mags and books say don't prune roses in time of frosts, what exactly do they mean? If there was a frost in the morning, but it's gone by lunchtime can you prune in the afternoon by Busy-Lizzie

Pruning pyracantha
being leafless. I would like to thicken up the growth and restrict the hedge to a depth of about 18 inches. In this stage of its' life would it be possible to cut back the branches to achieve this. Would it survive such a drastic prune and when would by GarryH

Pruning a Photinia
I have a Photinia Red Robin that is about 10' high. It has new growth and leaf in the upper half but very little below. It is now more a tree than a shrub. I know I have neglected it, I should have pruned it long ago. It has had a scattering by KEF

Peony Pruning?
up with a huge bush of the plant which was very old then and now have a cutting from that plant from my Sister. It was paeonia officnalis Rubra-plena a deep red. I also have a more modern Rubra-plena and Alba-plena.They do not need pruning until late by Moonlit Hare
