Flowers
What a nice show. I think the garden has enjoyed the rain this year more than the gardener has. My dahlias are looking good and a lavatera hasn't stopped flowering since June. by Strewberry

Beef tomatoes
and then I place it in a bigger pot and put it outside.  I usually grow two plants.  This year I decided to grow beef tomatoes from seeds I had from a tomato I had bought.  Everything was going well until it rained, rained and rained again.  I only got six by Linda Cook

No flowers on my Kniphofia rooperi
Probably the poor weather. The plants like a rich soil, and nutrients will have been washed away by the incessant rain, so they may have been hungry. Also, they like the ground well drained - some hope this year! by Ron Moffatt

slugs, snails and bees
, must try to find the program on internet.  Talking about slimmy things, I went out after heavy rain this morning and picked up at least 20 snails sheltering from the rain on walls and plants. I guess they don't like the rain much either. by Fairygirl

Insect-proof netting
What is the best all purpose insect netting for an allotment, one which will be a barrier for onion and leek attacking insects? There is a 0.33mm mesh on the market but it blocks 20% of sunlight and presumably rain too. Is that too much for good by Sheila 5

Sowing grass
Hi All Two weeks ago, I put down an oversowing of grass seed.  Since I did we have had nothing but rain.  Will the grass seed have just got too wet and rotted, and will I need to oversow again? by Catseyes411

Summer's ending
Looking out my window just now it's raining, again. Warm and humid but can't get out there. Summer seems to have come and gone in a blink and it's time to think of next year. But, an Indian summer? We often do well from September down here by christopher2
