After the storms.......
Despite the torrential rains and wind, the ornamental grasses are still swaying and overlording the garden. Miscanthus, panicums, Calamagrostis varieties are still in flower and providing structure and movement and colour. Interspersed with red by Verdun

Last couple of years we have had it very warm in march, ie 20+ for a couple of weeks, then cold and lots of rain. Looking at today's weather, is it more of the same? I hope not, last year all my onions and garlic (well 95%) bolted by june (  It by BrummieBen

Saving water
Hello.  I live on the south coast and we are having severe drought problems.  I use water carefully and save rain in two rain butts, but I have one question.  Can I use washing-up water on my garden?  I'd be intersted to know if anyone else has by Overtherainbow

Talkback: Cuckoo flower
To me it is always ladies' smock, food-plant of the orange-tip. It wasn't particularly subtle, but last night when I was scarifying the grass before the expected rain came, a robin and a pair of blackbirds took grave exception to my being in 'their by Richard Jones

What's the weather like in your area?
success to rain. The sky is brighter towards the coast three miles away as the crow flies but then we get most of our weather off the North Sea. This is because Teesside is like a large bowl with rising ground North South and West. Our poster "Rain" lives by David K

Talkback: How to lay a decking path
This is ridiculous! Versed garden owners rejected wooden paths a long time ago. I have a wooden piece in my path though. Such paths get ineffably slippery after a rain and when it incessantly drizzles a long time it gets just impassable during by Misha
