it in warm soapy water etc but it's not easy, particularly if it's been raining a lot.In spite of keeping my own containers clean I had a dunnock in my garden which clearly had avian pox. I live in Merseyside which the RSPB said was the most northerly report by kater1

't necessaily true. I haven't seen any Peacocks, Red Admirals or Commas recently. Although I normally associate them with the time when the buddlea is in flower, and it's not out yet. We've had so much wind and rain that I don't think the butterflies can fly by flower 7

All year round Wall basket - drought resistant!
sheltered but don't get a lot of rain. I would ideally like to plant something now and be able to leave it to do its thing throughout the year with just a littel bit of maintenance.  I would also like the planters to look good in the winter/autumn too. Ok am by NJJ272

Plant in pot leftover from last year - identify?
off on my fingers or wipe off so it must be natural - I think!   I'll certainly try cuttings. They were such a wonderful colour - especially after rain.  When in bloom they withstood weeks of showers.  Thanks so much.  Let's hope the cuttings root by yarrow2

Himalayan blue poppy
of these lovely plants is just that, I'm afraid, a dream. I have hundreds of the blowsy bright scarlet double oriental poppies, which I can't eradicate ( even if I wanted to! ) which grow and proliferate like weeds!  Peaty soil, lots of rain, cold winters, late by Rosemary Hawley

Broadcasting poppy seeds into the border
it.  2,000 poppy sides in palm of hand and scattered them with abandon around the borders.  Lord knows where they have landed - but good shower of rain will hopefully get them going.  Quite excited now with the anticipation of what its going to look by Tim Burr
