wildflower meadow
at this time. Other than that, though, you can leave the area to its own devices. As a lad we had hay making which did all the things Alina says, it scattered the seed as it was left to dry then raked up and put on the wain to stack for a nice healthy winter by SarahTho

Moss!
today and purcharsed some grass feed, weed and moss killer which I know will probably turn my whole lawn black.  I then believe I have to leave it for 2 weeks from the date I spread the weed and feed and then rake the lawn to remove all the moss by Barry 075

Ruined lawn with too much grass seed?
on how to resolve this. I know that raking away the dead grass and using a fork to improve drainage is always a good idea (particularly since we've got heavy, clay soil), but is there anything else I can do? Honestly-you cant overseed grass by Alice Konash

My new lawn
add compost and sieved soil but would simply rake and rake and rake to get as fine a tilth as possible on your clay. Keep off if when wet and work it when dry. However, I'm not an expert on gardening on clay....my soil is light. Hoe or rake any by martin white

bonfires
hard to compost, and make a neat pile in an open patch. Leave it for a week or so, then with a scrap of old newspaper, burn it and then rake the ashes around that  area. It provides pest control where the fire was, potash to spread around, cooks by peteballan

Mossy lawn
hadn't been raked up for years. The first thing we did was to improve the light by having the crowns of the trees expertly lifted and thinned.  The ivy covered fences fell down and have been replaced by fences with honeysuckle, roses and clematis by Les2

Talkback: How to make a garden shed tool rack
An excellent cheap and easy solution to the age old problem of storing your tools. It saves time finding an implement and more importantly can help you avoid the risk of you or anyone else treading on a rake head etc and causing an injury. SHEDShttp by brunehill
