Hanging baskets
interested to know what plants you use in your hanging baskets, but what type of Sedum do you use as I didnt realise they were trailing plants. I am not sure of the actual names, one is green with yellow flowers and the other has a redness to the leaves by gina65compton

Ornamental grasses
but they dont seem to be widely grown and I wonder why. I have a pineapple sage with tall red flowers, 5' high, next to a white/green miscanthus in full flower as good as anything growing in the summer. Comvicing anyone? You're convincing me. Things by Verdun

After the storms.......
Despite the torrential rains and wind, the ornamental grasses are still swaying and overlording the garden. Miscanthus, panicums, Calamagrostis varieties are still in flower and providing structure and movement and colour. Interspersed with red by Verdun

Talkback: Grey squirrels

Front garden very uninteresting
type, uncinia unciniata rubra another evergreen red grass. Geranium Black Beauty has black foliage and blue flowers. The actea have reddish/black foliage. Acers too But they need shelter. Euphorbia rubra is a wonderful purple black evergreen perennial by Rosa carriola

the combination of red and white plus yellow although Rosa arvensis doesn't repeat flower.  Or Super Elfin and Laura Ford for repeat flowering.  Decisions decisions by Bill Mansfield

Honeysuckle
by name sorry   I like this one - Lonicera 'Red Gables' but there are many others.  This flowers from midsummer onwards... it has scent in the evenings mostly... less during the day... [can't post photo, sorry]...oh, here we go.... by elliedaisy
