I have this problem on one of my rose cuttings, but don't mind it now I know it's a bee and presumably it will have had enough soon and leave my rose alone! busy bee's have totally defoliated a climbing rose which hasn't flowered for 3 years by tessa1958

atropurpureum should have leaves which are coming out green and what I should do about it? Very grateful for any advice. If the leaves are in the shade, they will be green. If you look at any red leaved maple, 'Garnet' is a good example, the leaves come by G Wallis

Sempervivum succulents/houseleeks?
free draining compost / soil and let them get on with it. They can stand drought with no problem. Just forget about them when you go on holiday, even if its in a heatwave.When the central rosette flowers it dies, by which time there will be lots by LeadFarmer

Clearing weeds from a paddock
the grass looking for any docks I missed and cutting off seed heads (those brownish/red things) and binning them.  Docks are very persistant and, when the leaves are small, hard to spot. For what it's worth, we don't mow the grass short all through the year by andyjp007

problem with rats
beds,i have put big cheese blocks down each hole and the red crystals in the flower beds and covered them so other animals (including my pets) cant get poisoned...has anyone any ideas what to do as i cant take much more of them digging holes by tinaallan

Talkback: Overwintering chillies
the hanging chillies away to visitors. All the tops of my potatoes have suddenly wilted and died. Any comment on what could have caused this and what I should do next? Isn't that great that the chillies kept going, got to say I kave only just got the flowers by jk

Blossom Trees
I have a border 11m x 3m. I would like to plant a row of 3 blossom trees - magnolia or crab apple possibly, or any other you can suggest ? I would like like prolific flowering, low growing ( 2 - 3m max ), approx 2m spread with a nice leaf.  Can I by Stephen Lawrence
