Flying Ants
Just been out into the garden to do a spot of watering and saw lots of flying ants flying around. Not everyones cup of tea but they really are a sight to behold as they fly up to mate, unfortunately the males will die afterwards. I never kill them by donutsmrs

New shed - any tips?
We need to buy a new whed to store garden furniture and the lawnmower and no doubt other sundries such as pots in winter and bags of compost and so on.   i'm planning to get a wooden one but would welcome tips and dos and don'ts. I'm planning by obelixx

vandalism
our lottys were vandalised . 7 gardens entered and sheds broke in.all hens and livestock terrorised and let free.  what sort of objects are we breeding.  most of us are retirees.we just want to be left alone.  is it worth carring on Always worth by wrinkly1

Climber to cover large wall

My favourite in the winter is the Sarcococca - smells so sweetly and for a great distance. My late husband was blind for 15 years and I filled the garden with scented plants for his sake. His favourite was Sweet William and I still grow lots by Chiswickian

Greenhouse beginner
on the grit.  I thought the idea was that the plant roots would reach down to get the moisture therefore, grow good strong roots.  I can only get to garden at the weekends so I thought this would be a good idea to ensure there is water through the week by kjdintown

north. The garden is surrounded on all sides but can still attract quite strong gusts of wind. The garden is narrow and I read somewhere that if you keep to pastel shades it will create an illusion of depth. Can anyone pelase help me with some planting by rubber

I remember an episode of Gardeners World, which was probably a couple of years ago now, which I was impressed with becasue they showed you a paint that you could put on the inside of a cardboard box and it would seal it so well it could be used as a by PhoenixDawn

Talkback: The insects have gone berserk
to catch and release at least a hundred every evening that have got trapped in my conservatory and tap on the glass roof,never had this before.Also have lots of butterflies and ladybirds in the garden.Is it the weather? Have seen a similar amount of insect by Murray Fortescue
