Talkback: Harvesting garlic
) the bulbs are huge, much bigger than previous years and are now hanging from the roof of my shed to dry. I usually transplant my winter leeks into the bed vacated by the garlic, but are they likely to get rust too? If so, is there anything organic I can do by joey woosey

Whats the secret to beautiful hanging baskets ?
over root space, they will manage, they're only going to be there for a season. 2) Plant them up and keep them indoors until they are growing well - I have a small cool greenhouse and hang the baskets from the roof for about 6 weeks before they go out by marshmello

having a moan about...
Why oh why does this Winter seem to be dragging? Is it that it's cold and wet and I can't get into my garden for more than 5 minutes before I'm soaked and freezing? I cannot wait for Spring to finally show its face! I think we all feel the same by ilovemontydon

Plastic bags for seedlings
only too delighted to ferret out a particularly usefull looking item if you explain it is for gardening purposes. If any bag, lid or multi-carton you see dosn't look pristine when you get it home wash it with a very mild detergent and rince it well by Lucy3

Talkback: Slugs, rain and nematodes
on and around the new plants is a worthwile trip. They don't seem to like the taste or granularity. It's like dusting you just have to do it regularly. Good luck and enjoy your garden. Do slugs killed by nematodes present any danger to garden birds? What about by Mary

Invasive plants to avoid
object to that? Well, I guess some folk might.  The invasiveness also varies from garden to garden, I have trouble getting japanese anemones to grow at all, never mind become a problem, whereas my friend a couple of miles away finds them a dreadful pest by christopher2
