Bubblewrapping the greenhouse
at the closed end and make a bubble wrap tent and a curtain across. With some temporary shelving your plants are safe at half the cost.Now I use a cable heated sand box with a thermostat and just cover that to the roof with bubble wrap, heat rises so I have some by Goldtop

sweet peas in toilet roll inners
Following an article I saw on Gardener's World, I planted sweet pea seeds in toilet roll inners last month. The seedlings are coming through okay but the toilet roll inners are becoming mouldy already. They are in an unheated greenhouse by Deb66

Best and worst

Bird box v bird feeding
breezy because its a bit of a wind tunnel with the next door house, so not sure it will be ideal for a bird box. I think your sparrow terrace will be ok on the back of your house - my garden's not that much bigger than yours and sparrows nest in the roofs by Tim Burr

Advice on where to plant my apple tree and suitable hedging
garden is putting a pitched roof on top of his garage  to create a bedroom. Also their kitchen window looks into our garden so my second issue is, what sort of hedging to plant ,I would like a fast growing and dense and also bird friendly. I would  really by pennymax

I have been reading a very interesting book about Geoff Hamiltons 'Barnsdale' and it is only through reading the book that I discovered / realised that the Barnsdale ground was divided into many smaller 'show gardens' that were created by Geoff by wirral27

Vistors had a party yesterday
is Seagulls! Same here, Ryan. Seagulls and magpies drive off smaller birds. Our dogs object to birds using the air space, which doesn't help, either. We've just had a Peregrine swoop down and take a woodpigeon from our garden  Literally just 10 minutes ago by scotkat

Talkback: Beetles, wasps and toads
then knocked it off the roof- particularly dangerous to me as i am extremely allergic to there sting, however it doesn't stop me gardening! To deter wasps from nesting in sheds etc you can use those fake nests which make wasps think the space is already by Excited finder

Wild life mating can be very fascinating. i have two collar doves which kiss beaks for ages before mating on next door's roof! The time od day does not seem to bother them but we will all have to get up very early to watch the slugs it seems by Richard Jones
