Greenhouse
siting where it get as much light/sun as possible-perversely it may need shading during the Summer but you don't want any permanent shading from trees etc. Again ideally a roof line that runs East to West is preferable but in the limitations of a garden by Supernoodle

Making a path
In Joe Swift's garden design section in this week's Gardener's World, there was an interesting-looking path. It was made of long thin strips of stone, slate maybe? Laid in lines going across the direction of the path. Perhaps 1-2 inches wide. I by AbiM

Who else loves the humble sempervivum
really come to appreciate succulents and I am slowly making a nice collection of them. I'm fond of them too, particularly for their leaf colours. I planted some last year in the roof garden on Insect Towers.  Looks like they've come through the winter OK by Gold1locks

Talkback: Swifts, newts and decking
. Since then the weather has been warmer and drier, perhaps they brought it with them? ,We live in a suburb of Southampton and the swifts used to nest in next door's roof, but the owner had the roof repaired and now they can't get in there, what a pity. I by Frieda (London)
