Roses
Hi, I am a novice gardener. My Roses have been cut back over the years and are at least 35 years old. I love them dearly but I know to keep them going they need pruning. Should I have done this during November or seeing as spring is  totally delayed by Karen Novice London

Choosing a rose!
In October I had a back garden makeover, but I wanted to choose the plants myself and put them in the ground.  At the moment it's a blank canvas, so I thought I would start by getting a bareroot rose for the wooden pergola.  It has to be a repeat by happycottontail

Roses
- they are very helpful. Other than the fact that they are local to me and I have bought roses from them, I have no connection with the company. DFA Did you visit their recent Rose Garden Open Days? I drove up from Kent and it was well worth it. I came away by Wendy7

This feature really helpful, I did find these nasty little critters on one of my roses, I killed them, hoping now that I managed to get all of them. We had a lot of these sawflies dancing in groups in the garden last spring. We didn't know what by kaycurtis

Talkback: Five ways to grow better roses
You must have read my mind. This is the first year I have grown roses and was just wondering should I stake them and also how to take a cutting. I don't know a great deal about roses having concentrated mostly on veg - just dabbled with flowers by June

eucalyptus
Our David Austin roses threw out an arm of black spot (aimed at the eucalyptus) and it almost seems they fungally infected our euc as he had been fine for 3 years and was growing nicely into a tree. Does anyone else have experience of such a cross by violet green
