as well as attracting large numbers of bees and hoverflies. You are very lucky! I've not received the first seed catalogue but expected to within the next week. I'll just have to hope the mailman doesn't keep them all to himself. by Dorothea Otte

. Had a few failures like squash and beetroot so will give them a miss perhaps but thought I might try Swiss Chard for first time. Just can't resist those seed catalogues and am already plotting next year how can you tell if old seed that ive keep from by Barnwell Brian

First new year resolution for 2014
Every January I get carried away with buying too many packets of seeds and worse of all, the catalogues and email messages arrive from gardening companies and I order plug plants.  Dare not put any more trays of seeds in house, OH is being pushed by break23

Tomato Seeds
I have been looking everywhere for tomato seeds Burpee Delicious, in all the catalogues and on the internet.  The only link I have found is in the USA which involves a lot of postage etc.  Can anyone here help please.  I first saw these tomatoes by Auntie E

Roy, I've found seed available in the Plants of Distinction catalogue, so do send off for a copy. Searching online I've found plants being offered by both Suttons Seeds and Dobies Seeds, but there may be others. Hi there,l have two African Violets by roy.cowley@ntlworld.

What plant is this please
actually sowed mine in Spring, a few years ago. I can't remember whether they flowered the first year. The T&M seed catalogue does advertise verbena as first-year flowering perennials. The T&M seed catalogue (2012 season) has an unusual note saying by Poppy Red

turbo plants

's also climbing nasturtium, Morning Glory and Canary Creeper, amongst others.  It's probably a bit late in the day to start growing all of them from seed now as some take a while to get going but many of the plant catalogues sell annual climbers as plants by lkendall
