are worth saving, and which are you better replacing each year? I'd love some practical guidelines! I've sown veg seeds from packets I opened 2 yrs ago and prob get about a 60% germination rate. Best bet is to sow 3-4 seeds per cell.... egde your bets Ive by northernwindowgardener

deep - smaller, but deeper than your average seed tray. They're great for sowing or plug plants; and when you want to plant out, cut off the end of the tray and slide the whole thing out without disturbance to the roots. Free and handy. The shed by gardengossip

with the inside sown ones by the time we get them hardened off. My motto is try it and see seeds don't grow in the packet so sow them and hope for the best even if you are a bit late. Good luck. I think the kids should have a place on the show as sometimes theyre by Lynn Drakelands

The right time to sow ones seed.....
the soil and removing weeds and larger stones followed by putting down the new top soil. Question is when am I best off putting the grass seed down?? With the weather as cold as it is if I put it down and water it tomorrow I worry if it gets cold by Pumphead

not showing yet. Chillies, Aubergines and leeks also sown but not expecting them to show for at least another week or two. Hi.  I've got a packet of cucamelon seeds and i am waiting patiently to sow them.  It says to sow in April and treat as a cucumber.  My by SMURF

sowing veg seed in plastic guttering
I have successfully grown peas in plastic guttering in the green house and they are now doing well in the veg patch. After i had sown parsnip and carrot seeds direct i decided to try putting a few into guttering and keeping them in the green house by little-ann
