shape your hedge
Hi i dont know if anyone can help me, ive planted 4 hedge cut offs in my garden, there about 6 to 7 inchs high and in a row about 10 to 12 inches apart. I want to shape them into a rectangle and join them up to make one hedge but i dont know how by Richard Morris

FIR TREE PRUNING and shaping, or not???
, like a crows nest and asked if they could be shaped, but sadly not.  I am worried after paying out the money that they look horrendous -  but on the positive side I will have more light in the garden!    Does anyone have any advice.  The front trees by Jots Smythe

How should I shape my pittosporum
and now feel the need to 'tidy' it a bit.  My question is should I be looking to acheive a particular shape or what would you recommend I do to tidy / cut it back a little. And when please?  Thank you all.   I've got a couple of those that are suddenly by lennyboy

Weird egg type shapes on my wet grass
Not got the greatest of lawns but boyfriend noticed this morning large patches of egg shaped stuff on the grass/moss/weeds! It looks like small grapes, are they some kind of buf larvae? Seem quite large for bugs though, any ideas would be helpfuly by Leanne Pugh

At what stage to shape a box hedge to create a par terre
should  I attempt to trim and shape the plants into the formal hedges? I planted a box hedge around 2 and a half sides of a rectangular rose bed a few years ago.  The other edges were trellis for climbing roses.   I waited till the box plants were all by Barbie2

i have sevaral box plants in pots had them about 4 yrs I want them to grow bigger so i have better shapes, instead of clipping them is it best to leave for a year or 2 then clip to shape It depends on how big you want the finished topiary by red john

in a year. Thanks! Catnip,try to get a narrowing shape, viz., wider at the base than at the top even if it is only slight difference. ;this will encourage growth at the base. I love this forum! People are so helpful! Thank you. by catnip

fruit bushes
I watched Monty pruning a gooseberry bush this week on Gardener's World - a sort of open bowl shape in the middle - does the same apply to black and red currant bushes?   It was red currents he was talking about! you should also do it to gooseberry by nightgarden
