Spring is here and so are the slugs!
I spotted some holes on my tulips and Oriental Poppies today, so I thought I would pop out this evening to see what the culprits were. Surely enough SLUGS. I wandered the problem areas and could only find baby slugs (probably because I got rid of so by Mattbeer87

My compost bin is full of slugs, to such an extent that I'm wondering whether any of it will be usable as it will be full of eggs. Any suggestions? jcoogs wrote (see) My compost bin is full of slugs, to such an extent that I'm wondering whether any by jcoogs

getting rid of slugs
Has anyone got any good tips on keeping slugs at bay, without using harsh chemicals. You can put a ring of diatomaceous earth around the plants, or crush up eggshells very finely and use that instead. Another way is to sink a tub of beer by artychris

Absolutely enormous slug
I saw a slug on the pavement a couple of doors down from my house today that was so big that when I put it in my hand, it reached from where the palm joins the wrist, right up to the middle of my fingers.  It was the diameter of a banana!  I have by Lunarz

Talkback: Slugs, rain and nematodes
on and around the new plants is a worthwile trip. They don't seem to like the taste or granularity. It's like dusting you just have to do it regularly. Good luck and enjoy your garden. Do slugs killed by nematodes present any danger to garden birds? What about by Mary

Slugs and snails - help needed!!
ended up lasting roughly 24hours before being munched by slugs and snails! This year we took measures to try and combat the problem but I think it's a tad out of hand and really I would really like some advice! We have researched plants which do by fraggle84

Talkback: Dealing with slugs and snails
I put the bad slugs (big or small black ones)out on the paths for the birds. I have robins and blackbirds who come to feed at this time of year from my a la carte menu. Any slugs with a yellow stomach are given leave to remain in the garden by Sophie33

Talkback: Hostas, slugs and snails
I thank my lucky stars that we really don't have a slug or snail problem so my hosta's always put on a fab display. I think encouraging the birds into the garden helps us. I have grown great hostas in pots for four years now with no slug problems by N Freeland.Somerset
