Talkback: Slugs and snails
I have been devastated to find the depths of viciousness to which I have sunk. I cannot see a slug without KILLING it. Do I need therapy? Help! Ginjosie - interesting to hear about the fly traps, I'll use that next year...they're less of an issue by ginjosie

Talkback: Dealing with slugs and snails
I put the bad slugs (big or small black ones)out on the paths for the birds. I have robins and blackbirds who come to feed at this time of year from my a la carte menu. Any slugs with a yellow stomach are given leave to remain in the garden by Sophie33

Talkback: Hostas, slugs and snails
I thank my lucky stars that we really don't have a slug or snail problem so my hosta's always put on a fab display. I think encouraging the birds into the garden helps us. I have grown great hostas in pots for four years now with no slug problems by N Freeland.Somerset

slugs & beer traps
I am having huge success with the beer traps I have put in the greenhouse to despatch alcoholic slugs. Can I empty the dead slugs & leftover beer into the compost bins? Incidentally, I have also found Venus Fly Traps to be invaluable by sandyr

Have the slugs eaten my Hedgehogs
New to this, so bare with me, last year I had 3 hedgehogs who came in every night to feed, I built them houses and left branches and leaves about to hibernate also I don't use any slug pellets. This year I haven't seen a hedgehog or even a sign by primrose09

Talkback: Slug-proof plants
Slugs are a nightmare in my garden, and last year I was given loads of petunias - apparently total slug magnets, as few survived to give me a couple of flowers before succumbing to the slugs' voracious appetites. I have tried copper rings, sticky by Sharon14

Slug resistant plants
Astilbes, astrantias, acteas, agastaches......all the "a's" I realise....... Seem not to be damaged by slugs or snails. I find eryngiums too to be resistant as well as liriopes & libertias. What plants do others feel are resistant to these pests by christopher2
