How should I shape my pittosporum
varieties in my garden and have never seen a flower on any of them. I know they are supposed to be small flowers but when should I get the magnifying glass out, which month? Late spring and early summer.  I have a dark leaved pitto (think its tom thumb) only by lennyboy

ROSES
Due to the snow and cold I havent done much pruning to my roses which are probably far too tall as I didnt prune last autumn either (new to gardening). Is it too late to prune them as they are no longer dormant? Would it do more harm than good by Brycey D

Poorly lilac tree
Help please. I have a purple lilac (small tree really rather than a shrub) in my garden which was here when we moved in over 10 years ago so don't really know which species it is. I have never needed to do anything to it - beautiful blooms by S Harrison

Horse Manure in a Vegan Garden
I found last Friday's feature on GW about an ex-Michellin starred chef, now vegan, growing his own vegetables very interesting.  I was interested to see how conscious his approach was to gardening as you would expect from a vegan who eats well by gily webber
