Slugs and Snails
What is a cheap way of getting rid of Slugs and Snail. (l do find many Snails have been eaten) l have tried most things. Encouraging birds, beetles, frogs and hedgehogs  Beer traps work too, but it's a terrible waste of beer! With the lung worm by Dolly11

Slugs and snails
I am so impressed with this concoction that I feel I have a duty to broadcast it to everyone. I have been plagued for years with slugs and snails eating my plants, as soon as they poke their heads out of the soil, they are attacked.  I have tried by Chrissie05

Slugs and snails
Is there ANYTHING slugs and snails won't eat? Weeds. You have to put yourself in the mindset of a slug-there is a free meal on offer-you can have grass and weeds- chips if you like-or for just a bit more effort dine at the Ritz on our treasured by Lorraine Sharp

Talkback: Snail attack
I too heard of these marvellous copper rings. But still these snails cannot be beaten, what about salt on the pot soil, would that work? I think this year must be 'the year of the snail'. Every morning I go out and collect between 5 and 18 by Tariq

usually rather pacifist outlook! I HATE SNAILS!!! I have a v large Skimmia japonica which during the summer housed hundreds of snails under the leaves. I regularly had to harvest them into a large bucket of hot salty water. LOVELY!!! I think I may need by ginjosie

Talkback: Hibernating snails
...but what do you do with them after you've collected them? I can stomp on one snail but get squeamish about mass murder! What a good idea to have a snail hunt. As soon as it stops raining I shall be out there with a pail of salt water. Wow, havn by Anonymous

Talkback: Snails in the garden
Well some interesting comments above, I have had huge problems with my potted herbs especially the tender leaves of my basil... which have now been consumed by an army of snails. I have put copper round the pots, but this has not stopped by Anonymous

Talkback: Hostas, slugs and snails
I thank my lucky stars that we really don't have a slug or snail problem so my hosta's always put on a fab display. I think encouraging the birds into the garden helps us. I have grown great hostas in pots for four years now with no slug problems by N Freeland.Somerset
