Awww, it was the same for my sister gardening in Edmonton in Canada, James. It was amazing how much they could grow in their very short three months without snow and freezing weather. And the lack of flavour in the veg. they could grow by happymarion

We have spent many happy hours watching lots and lots of blackbirds feasting off our crab apples, especially during the snow as they were so visible and well above the 12 ins of snow!!Norfolk. At the moment I have 6 feeders hanging from my rotary by Nanna greenfingers

Olive Trees
or snow will run off the wigwam cover - we certainly cant afford to replace ev erything again, so are hoping that these measures will be effective - they might be worth a try for you.  Certainly friends of ours, similarly situated, who lost olive trees by scousenel

Companions in the wildlife garden
goes away. I've got just 20 to start me off and if mine end up looking like yours happymarion I will be very pleased. The snowdrops really have snow now in Bristol and the wood pigeons are pinching the biscuit crumbs meant for my robin. We don't have by happymarion

small bird watch
with much chatter and flitting about but yesterday it turned cold and tried to snow so they're all busy stuffing themselves at the feeders and no more messing about for now. Snow is predicted for Monday here. fairly cool now but colder to follow later by nutcutlet

a pot grown one hidden away in an unseated greenhouse work or am I destined to do without . I always lose them eventually, except one. It's a deciduous one called "Gloire de Versailles". It looked dead last year after we'd had snow and -17° so OH by bunnysgarden
