Climbing plants advice
'm not being too picky!Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Trachelospermum jasminoides or star jasmin is evergreen, white flowers, smells wonderful. This article says it may need winter protection but mine survived -17° and snow last year. The leaves by Sophie Jean

Disappearing daffodils
of years to recover. All my spring bulbs are later this year than last Yes - even some of my snowdrops have only just come out now, only to be flattened by ice and snow! Most of my daffs are fine but where the ground was under water for weeks they haven by Northyorkaster

Vistors had a party yesterday
in this cold weather.  We have had no snow, but the wind is bitter.  As I type there are about 7 goldfinches, 2 siskins, 2 chaffinches with bluetits, great tits and coal tits rushing back and forth to stoke up, and couple of blackbirds and thrushes by scotkat

Viola - Plant or Not to Plant?
and they're flowering their socks off - they should be fine planted out now provided you're not actually knee deep in snow.    If they've been kept in shelter just introduce them to the colder weather gradually, putting them out by day and in a sheltered by 1985blonde

Honeysuckle not made it through frosts ...
honeysuckle back and after the frost and snow over this last few weeks i also think mine is dead  I had a look today and didnt notice any green buds etc.  I only put ot in because I though it would be really hardy.   I'd better look at mine tomorrow. I thought by Becky P

Hardy fuchsia
? The weather was too harsh, snow, ice etc to cut back in March. Any advice welcome. mine are the same i will wait until the shoots are a bit bigger and take cuttings and ditch the old plant No not too late.  You can cut it right back or to any point you like by nightgarden

Talkback: Cabbage white caterpillars
I found caterpillars crawling across the snow a few weeks back grrrr!I have tried nets and fleeces and they sitll get through:( I still have a huge problem with caterpillers. They stripped the sprouts throughout the winter and are still going by j.simpson

Talkback: Autumn gardening jobs
in December 2007 we had daffs in flower,2008 it was Christmas week,2009/2010 none until February because of the snow,I have been lifting the leave’s under the bushes only to find the daffs coming through 2″ tall snowdrop’s 1″ tall,Mother nature has got it all by James Bond
