Talkback: Spring blossom on fruit trees
My fruit trees have been in about 6 years and I have not yet had much fruit. This year when they have been smothered with blossom they were also covered in snow for 24 hours recently. Has this spoilt any chance of the fruit setting for this year by kathy korpe

wildlife. The biologist in me thinks that if there is food enough for rats to scavenge off the ground, there is probably already food enough out there for birds — berries, seeds and insects. It is when snow covers the ground that birds are less able by Grannyanne

Wildlife pond advice
build up of toxins if the pond is frozen over for any length of time.  When we had the bad winter a couple of years ago, hundreds of frogs died in garden ponds and research showed that:a) a hole should be kept open in the ice at all timesb) any snow by johnnyfive

What's the weather like in your area?
'm worried that some of the seeds I've planted out might rot in the ground, but better the rain. I can always sow more. It's 7am here and of course it's snowing! Oh and now it's blowing a gale! Dull, grey day with a few showers. Not very warm but no sign yet by David K
