frosted lilies
Back in March, when we had a few nice days, quite a few of my potted lilies decided to grow.  They got to between 4 - 7 inches in height, nice bushy leaves on top.   Then came the snow and very, very hard frosts with wind chill.  Most of the tops by Bookertoo

Pumpkins
Hi, I was very jealous watching Montys pumpkin and squash harvest. I live at the top of a fairly exposed hill, near Newcastle, it's snowing outside now. Would i actually have any chance of successfully growing pumpkins and squash or do i just by Just Giles

Leeks
advice please. Leave them in, they won't continue to grow and they won't rot. My neighbour grows 3-4 rows of leeks every year and leaves them in all winter and we have minus degrees and snow (like now!) most of the winter here in Switzerland. by Colin7

years. I live in East Dorset and we've had snow a few times over the years as well as plenty of frosts. It sometimes dropped a lot of leaves but they always grew back and it never flowered or fruited but to be honest it didn't get much TLC. by 24rose68

Protecting broad beans?
-east where we are at 'ground level' with lots of tree protection. Thanks   The last time I grew a crop over winter here in central Italy I just left them to cope. It snowed, the snow eventually melted, and there they still were. I got a nice crop. Just my by chrissieB

Hey, Does any one have the Hardy Gardenia 'Hardenia' - white plant? I have had mine in a container - which I have lined with polystryine - and it has mostly been indoors with a very brief spell outdoors before the last snow came. It has started by MaxiiLS
