Reusing clay soil to raise patio level?
Hi all, We're digging out the clay soil in a problem area of our garden and to save ourselves from injury, thought it best to hire a small skip to put it in. We wonder now though, as we are laying a patio also, is is possible to reuse the clay by Maff

Talkback: Growing garlic in a clay soil
Is it too late to plant garlic cloves now? I have very heavy clay soil as well. Thanks It is not too late to plant garlic - you tend to get a heavier crop from autumn plantings but I usually plant more cloves in the spring, I intend to buy some by StaceyF

Wildflowers - to dig over soil before planting or not?
. I want to turn this area into a bug friendly wildflower plot but have read that ideally the soil should be turned fully to allow for the seeds to be planted in. However, it feels as if I've got a decent base to work with here so wondered if I should by Barry Hayter

What veg and salad can be grown in clay-flint-chalk soil?
Thank you for the advice on indoors growing. Now the time for 'being brave'. Have been a bit disappointed by efforts in recent years to grow veg and salad outdoors. Cabbages, swedes and other veg have all failed in a horrible clay flinty soil by Bob Flowerjuice
