Talkback: Sowing seeds indoors
are worth saving, and which are you better replacing each year? I'd love some practical guidelines! I've sown veg seeds from packets I opened 2 yrs ago and prob get about a 60% germination rate. Best bet is to sow 3-4 seeds per cell.... egde your bets Ive by northernwindowgardener

to handle. Greenhouse with heat is too useful here. I would not bother with planting in a seed tray as above. Minimal root disturbance is useful. Good luck, enjoy and never quit if it doesn't go to plan first time. I sowed some seeds indoors by dereck

deep - smaller, but deeper than your average seed tray. They're great for sowing or plug plants; and when you want to plant out, cut off the end of the tray and slide the whole thing out without disturbance to the roots. Free and handy. The shed by gardengossip

hi ,has anyone got any tips for sowing seeds in this cold weather Which seeds?-not all need heat anyway I always sow them indoors at the moment and move out later its too cold on a night at the moment. Just pop on the window sill in a propagator by cj moden

Starting seeds indoors
to start my tomato, leek and beetroot seeds indoors. Any tips for this?? Do you  have a greenhouse? A small lean to. I was thinking I'd start the trays indoors while the weather is freezing, then move them outside when warmer? Dont be in too mush of a rush by Bf206

Windowsill planter
trays for sowing a variety of seed at the same time, and when placed side by side on my south facing kitchen windowsill they fit perfectly (much to the annoyance of my Mrs) but if you don't want to go to the expence? I used to just place 2 half seed by Giles Buist

Seed sowing times
Hi, living in Renfrewshire, Scotland (near Glasgow), when would be the best time to sow seeds inside and outside.  By this I mean, if the packet says sow outdoors in March-April or indoors in January - March, how much later than these months should by Mrs M

Lupins from seed
and sow in February in small pots on a windowsill indoors, or March outdoors.  Soak the seeds for 24 hours before sowing. Overwintered plants will flower in the summer, but those sown in March may not flower until the next year.  The flowers may not look by Caroline Bridges

Talkback: How to grow rockets leaves from seed
cultivate the seeds from the pods? I've been trying to grow rocket indoors but I started 6 weeks ago and still have no rocket. They seem to thrive as seedlings but then they die off gradually after about 4 weeks. All my other plants are doing great but I by Lynneod
