I'm the kiss of death to herbs it seems......
Okay, so I sow all seeds as instructed on the packets/gw site - they include Parsley, Basil and Chives....and if I'm lucky a few will germinate, grow about an inch tall then keel over and die on me:/ ....I don't overwater them and keep them on my by The Manic Slughunter:)

maybe next year i will do them from seed when will i need to sow them thanx. Hiya neil0748 ...I've tried seed in the past and have never had a lot of luck..they take a bit of looking after....I would never use anything else but sets..just make sure by neil0748

I can't even grow from seed!!!!!!!
be too warm-a lot will germinate quite happily outside with no heat-you may be spoiling them and they cant cope. So types? The first attempts were himalayan poppies. this time round they are Salvia - Blaze of fire - sow indoors 18-24 degrees C makes sure by Bagz

Seeds are up
be fast seeds - mine not shown themselves yet but has not been that long I suppose since I sowed them same day but different seeds. I do have cuttings that I took of cornus dogwood red indoors that seems to be in leaf but no signs of roots yet only done by Sam Glendinning

Another Vitopod question
for the light) I'm itching to get sowing myself, but I want good seedlings, not long drawn out flimsy ones!!! Sounds an exciting new venture, how nice to have a heated propagator in the GH. Mines, an indoor window ledge type, so this doesn't answer your question by Iain R

keeping mice off pea seeds
years backMy way is foolproof.I sow in trays. Then Imto 9 cm pots....all indoors.Right now they have outgrown their seed cases and ready for planting out. Even then I will cover with fleece....not for mice but to,prevent them being pulled out by tulipgirl

where it will get full sun and, in theory, give better crops of tomatoes.    i'll use the propagator later on for cuttings and seeds needing bottom heat. Meanwhile I have tomato and chilli seeds germinating with the help of radiators indoors and other by Brumbull

they took to germinate,maybe about 3 weeks. Started some more off a couple of weeks ago and only one has popped through at the moment.   Cool. Did you sow them indoors Mandy? just planted some so will keep a close eye on them to see when they pop up. George by hollie hock
