Greenhouse heating / winter growing
and of varying heights and also perennial if possible. thanks everyone in advance Yvonne It depends on what you want to grow-heating a greenhouse is expensive -so much heat is lost through the glass A lot of seeds can be started off indoors-in a propagator by yvonne parsons2

Pride before a fall!
have grown outdoor cyclamen from seed but not indoor cyclamen, although I have kept indoor ones. I would think that the same regime would do for both - Soak seeds in slightly soapy water for a while - they are sticky and it removs this. Put in a pot by Moonlit Hare

Clematis from seed?
think has some seed heads on at the moment, so looks like a new project! I have grown Clematis chiisanensis 'Korean Beauty' from seed - several germinated from a September 2010 sowing but few survived the winter - even when indoors !! One plant remained by Gloucestergirl13

Tomato/Chilli Transplants not growing!
slightly chlorotic as well - could this be a nutrient deficiency (although this was a multi purpose compost so I can't see how!)? Some other tomato seeds I sowed after I transplanted the others and left in my propagator for longer have overtaken by Tom Freeman

Paper pots versus what?
off their seeds in a propagator? I usually just sow straight into seed compost, with added vermiculite, in the tray, cover with the lid, then pot on when the first true leaves appear, into 3 -4 inch pots with fine compost.  Only with big seeds like by chilli lover

Seeds
having got lots of seedlings from my sowings and with the weather being so cold I am running out of space in the house. Can I put them out into my 5 tier free standing greenhouse until I can plant them out. What sort of seeds are they?     Thanks by CLER

SNOW!
see them at the moment Just been potting on and playing with seeds indoors. Definitely not the same. Think I'm developing cabin fever. I feel the same another day stuck inside looking out the window seeing the jobs I need to do come on warmer weather by Will Pratt

Talkback: Lost crop of the Incas
I have just joined the Heritage Seed Library and have received some Achocha seeds. Too late for sowing this year so I'm intrigued to read about what I can expect next year. My Lancashre Lad peas and Brighstone beans from HDRA are doing well by Toni Lee McCulloch

This is what happens when.....
I took the advise of some young gardener in AG mag to set tomato seeds in January, my dad there sniggering away, 'Thats the way to do it these days dad' I says! 'Go on then' Says he. Well, now my plants are 9/10" tall, no way they can go by Lyn

Autumn sown sweet peas
that autumn sowing of sweet pea seed was a waste of time. What a good idea!     I shall give two sowings a try next time.    I do love these flowers and the colours are wonderful.    I like the fact that the more you pick them, the more flowers you get by CathRJ
