This dreadful(?) weather and planting!
years of growing veg -  all sorts of varieties, however, this year I have been 'bottling' planting out my young ones and have kept postponing my sowing for fear of everything being washed away in the rain or beaten by frost.  Am I right to hold off by rjmprospero

Looking for ideas to mini-landscape..
. gardenersworld.com team Emma is right, annual bedding will give you great colour and sowing seeds is the cheapest option by far. Otherwise, have a look at the neighbours gardens for the kinds of things that are thriving.  Lavender is a good goer if you have by Uncle Hugo

Marigolds in the veg patch
pretty and so much the better if there are other benefits. You can eat nasturtium flowers in salads anyway. I meant to sow borage as well, forgot to buy the seed, but not too late I think. The flowers are pretty in ice cubes. Im amazed. How did by Verdun

Apple Trees
, inedible apples. The variety is very unlikely to resemble variety the pip came from. But it's a great way to grow apples, and who knows, you might grow a brand new type. But if you want to give it a go, just save the seed from an apple and sow them in a pot by james_92056

Growing lupins
Hey all. Last year I tried growing some lupin seeds in the greenhouse, but they all died no matter what size pot they were in. They'd grow to 1 inch then die. I pulled one up the once and found some kind of tiny worm (about a quarter of an inch by RubyLeaf

Talkback: Seed catalogues
I agree that if a certain seed is reliable and a chosen favourite then continue to use it. As I live in the north pennines I always choose Mussellburgh leek seeds because the plants are hardy and are able to withstand our winter weather by Barnwell Brian

Weed or not?
on it - but I think you may have an aquilegia (pinky flower) - not a weed, and possibly some Alchemilla mollis in front of it - again not a weed.  Both can self-sow themselves all over the place but are not hard to keep control of.   You've also got some other by Sazac
