does it matther what time of the year to sow seeds in a propagater in a glasshouse. i write this as a lot of perennial seeds have not germinated that were sowed in the last eight months. A lot of seeds don't need a propagator to germinate-in fact by RAYDO68

Hi last year was my 1st year growing veg and really enjoyed it but most of the veg I brought as little plants from a garden center.  This year I want to try growing them from seed but have absolutely no idea what to sow and when..\is there anything by flowergirl4

I would like to start a topic about seed sowing   When do you do it? What Kinds of containers do you use? What kind of soil mix do you use? Do you use a greenhouse or a coldframe etc? It would be nice to gather everything together to find out some by Mattbeer87

Seed sowing times
Hi, living in Renfrewshire, Scotland (near Glasgow), when would be the best time to sow seeds inside and outside.  By this I mean, if the packet says sow outdoors in March-April or indoors in January - March, how much later than these months should by Mrs M

Preparing for wildflower seed sowing
the newspaper and mulch in before sowing or should I remove it and then prepare what's underneath it for sowing? Second would I have to do this every year or do the wild flowers self seed. Thanks. Anna by Annibee

, it is an amazing place.So good luck with your "SAD" lamp for plants. I went to a dayschool on sowing seed and received a comprehensive list of when is the best time to sow in Bristol and the only suggestion for sowing from mid-Jan. onwards were Bergenia by Gardening Express

hi everyone! i`m new today and i need some help please! every year when i sow any type of seed in trays in my greenhouse i lose a lot of my seeds through green algae type growth on top of my trays. it is an unheated greenhouse as i cant afford heat by rose 5
