sweet chestnut
popping up all over the place at work - from chestnuts planted by squirrels and jays - they just bury them in the lawn, flower beds, pots of bulbs etc and forget where they put them - by late spring we're having to mow them out of the lawn, dig them out by PotterAngie

Dead Head Alliums?
the dead flower helps the bulb keep its strength for next season, but with Alliums, it is already too late. They flower after the leaves have done their job and begun to die. In fact the flower stem is almost disconnected from the bulb altogether by Nigel Benton

Allium
have two. The bulb i replanted is coming on a treat but the pot i took it from has somehow produced another. How is this so? Most spring bulbs produce offsets or bulblets ever year same as daffs snowdrops etc thats how the clumps get larger. Not sure by Cia Parker

Talkback: Planting spring bulbs
bulb with a maximum height of 40 cm ? I live in Belgium so it can be a lite bit colder here than in the UK. Bees sleep in crocus flowers? That is so cool! I'm planting loads of tulips this year. I'm planting the bulbs in pots with daffs planted on top by hayinwood

A weed or something nice?
?  The leaves too?  Like a daffy?   Just like that Bagz. and those little corms can get thrown out with the weeds so remember where it is. A good semi invisible way to market is with a black plant label - I do this round clumps of spring flowering bulbs as a by Bagz

Talkback: How to harvest garlic
for harvesting? I believe you wait until the plant has flowered and the leaves have withered, then it is right to harvest. Haven't done it myself yet though as this is my first year growing garlic! I love both wild and bulb garlic...but this has inspired me by Denzle43

Tulips
ahead that they haven't properly formed their flower stems. I suspect that the stems will start to lengthen eventually. I'd blame the weird spring weather, with extreme cold and warm spells close together, for tricking the bulbs into blooms. It's nothing by Judith2

Spring Garden
all the old perennials out, only to find my tulip bulbs rotten in their baskets which I planted maybe 2 years ago!  I have heavey clay soil and as this bit of garden is visible from my kitchen window, I'd like a cheerful display from early spring by Snailspace
