given a good mulching in spring which would feed them to some extent and help to keep the roots cool. However from my limited experience they will benefit from a little proprietary tomato feed or rose feed. you would generally do this spring and early by Tammy McLeod

Can I move my peony?
these they died instantly once replanted.   Mulch in spring ,Stake the stems,water in dry weather,deadhead faded blooms,and feed with general fertiliser in late summer,hope this helps! Thanks for the advice.  I am an amateur, what would i mulch with?  A mulch by Amateur82

) and they came out fine. I find the wind is worst for defoliating them, but they refoliate in spring, so no a worry. I have Asian Wonder, P.Nigra and Fargesia murielae if that helps? One plant that is ideal for pots is the agapanthus.   The tighter by pansy2

help with 2 plants please- Clematis Jackmanii(?) and Rhodedendron(?)
in Jan/Feb (seems to have come back well) but i was unsure what type it was, after some research i think it is a Clematis Jackmanii Superba but still not 100% sure.  The care tips for Jack are to prune in spring (too late now) and i have no idea how by siminstance

and it's looking stunning, all offset by a low hedge of blue toned conifer between it and the grass beyond.  In early spring there are snowdrops, dwarf daffs, shorter primulas, helleborus foetidus and snake's head frits.   Fab. All the other beds by auntie betty

, though I'd recommend leaving it naked once the clem starts with new shoots in the spring, though, so there's nowehere for slugs and snails to hide. What a great idea Auntie Betty - just love this site everyone has such a wealth of knowledge to share . I by jean riley

Alstroemeria
such a lovely flower, I didn't realise they were so tough!    I've got Alstroemeria's in pots and they are flowering their socks. I had them flowering right up to Christmas last year. I cut them back early in the spring and off they go again. I love them by Starflower

Are Hostas really for shade?
this year but I would sugegst that next spring you give each emerging hosta a generous feed of slow release fertiliser such as blood, fish and bone or pelleted chicken manure and maybe a tonic of liquid rose or tomato food for extra flowering oomph.  If your by Beverley Jones

spring/summer is just around the corner !!!! Many plants/shrubs in our garden are quite late this year but equally others - verbena bonariensis, for example - are getting ready to flower !! As long as seeds are not terribly expensive I don't stick too by Ken Wallace
