Lily beetle
. Grown well despite weather [or maybe due to the abundent rain] and most started flowering weeks ago. I have staked and supported with green plastic hoops which also detered the cats and foxes initially. Not sure how to upload photo/s but may try. Happy by SilverFairy

Making a cold frame and where to buy a manger.
- my makeshift coldframe was scavenged, so free.  But it wouldn't rate in the fashion stakes.  Found a set of drawers out for local bin collection last year.  Ditched the drawers and kept the frame and knocked out the back.  Used it as a big planter by Tootles

Front garden From scratch
deciding on a practical and desirable design I drew it out with string and stakes. This helped me gauge the amount of earth works required. The bottom left is a pond, middle right is a seating area, and the lines represent new rockery walls, running through by El_Chaffinch

holiday watering in greenhouse
and stakes.  Seems to be working really well so far.  Thank you for the suggestion.  We have now bought a hozelock system for the greenhouse, and are just getting used to how long/frequency to water. Glad you took me up on the idea.  We are using ours by Lindylou3

Lupins and delphiniums
and buy mine at a decent size. Afraid I'm lazy and not into seeds.  GC's love me!  Will try pots and, thanks Brumbell, will remember the stakes! Noticed my Lupins were coming back nicely yesterday, they are in pots though so maybe that keeps them a little by Verdun

Round logs for border/raised bed/retaining wall
suggested log rolls, but Im wondering how they will work as the garden is also on a downward slope. Could you use the round type tree stakes for the edging? They come in all different diameters so might be good if you need smaller than a telegraph pole by Olivedog

Good Evening FORKERS
, today has been interesting but windy and more high winds to come over the next few days. Interesting to feel it is a warm breeze now. Hopefully most of us did better in the weather stakes today.   Where is the FORKERS FIESTA ? As Blackest is being so by blackest

Get thrifty
but hey ! My mother saves old, laddered tights for us to use in our garden. We cut them into strips to secure blackberry plants and other whippy growth on both climbing and shrubby plants, use 'whole legs', doubled up to secure young trees to their stakes by Daniel Haynes
