How much potash?
How much sulphate of potash (potassium sulphate) should be used as a pre-planting base dressing, and/or as a top dressing? As with all fertilisers, too much can damage.   I just get a handful and sprinkle around the plants. If I'm honest.  Never by K S mith

as valuable as sulphate of potash. Having said that and to answer your question, it is best applied at at 1/2lb per sq yd on open ground. Potash aids the development of fruit & flowers. by Alan4711

sulphate of potash on them.  I was told chicken manure would help them so I've also tried that but I'm still getting nothing.  It's very disheartening. What am I doing wrong? Have they been pruned at all? need to cut them right down to ground level by daisy72

Best feed for fruit
I have some 1 year old, some 2 -3 year old and some newly planted fruit trees and bushes. What is the best feed to give them now ?- I have seen blood, fish and bone mentioned and sulphate of potash. which is best or is it different for tres by Rosa carriola

it been getting? - something with plenty of potash in it might nudge it into action - I'd sprinkle some sulphate of potash around it, or you could use a rose or tomato fertiliser. And I'm a bit confused by your description of the pruning - you say you by dizzylizzy

-S Hi Percy-Grower.   I always prune mine the last two weeks in February, if at all possible, then give them a feed of sulphate of potash. I find that this works for me. All my clematis are in the ground so I give them a mulch in the autumn and if you by Percy-Grower

importantly, what should I feed to encourage growth? I feed mine with a high nitrogen fertilizer in the summer to encourage leaf growth - I use sulphate of ammonia sprinkled round the plants at the rate stated on the packet and forked into the surface. I would by Lorrie Flannery
