What is the best way to take and propagate rose cuttings?? Chris. 10" semi hardwood cuttings in a trench with sharp sand at the bottom, in September. I am sure there is a very recent thread all about this -sorry I can't look for it now. Hopefully by Christopher Dennison

Clematis Armandii Cuttings
mine have died. Lots over the years. Just give it a try. Good luck Here in Bristol they seem to do well. They have all gone into gritty compost and been put outside. Fingers crossed. Managed two years ago to take a cutting from a blue clematis which by Swedboy

Hypericum Magical Red Star Pruning?
Although I've had this growing for a few years I've not been able to find out when I should cut this back. I usually take about a third off the top each spring, but the clump is getting taller and taller. So I'm wondering if I'm not cutting enough by diggingdoris

fuchsia identification
Can anyone tell me what variety of fuchsia this is please? I have a habit of taking cuttings and not labelling them and losing the original label or finding the name has faded to obscurity, I use a cd writer pen but that seems to fade.     Sorry I by AnnyGardener

not consider them hardy in most parts of the UK-best over-wintered under cover-and/or take cuttings around September time You do get hardy varieties that survive through bad winters in the north. Depends which one you bought/grew. They are very easy to take by ChristyRose

How can I kill of old tree roots once I have cut the old tree branches down to the ground You can buy a stump killer, is it too big to dig out? if it's in a suitable place light a bonfire over it, it may take several fires but it will burn away by James Mcluckie
