Black currants
I have a black currant bush in a large pot, and would like to take cuttings. Any advice appreciated. Wait until the leaves start dropping (usually October) then take cuttings about 8-10 inches long of brown (not green) wood.  Cut just below a bud by Inkadog

Cuttings from Aeonium
My Aeonium has proven popular neighbours and friends who have felt free to take cuttings from it, leaving large gapping holes in the foliage. Can anyone advise how you cultivate cuttings from it, so I can offer friends who are desperate by Annie 5

Is my Lavender dying
to do. Does anyone know what I should do. regards Chris     It is not as tough as English lavender-you can cut it back- but not into old wood- and at the same time take cuttings- they root dead easy. That way you will not lose anything I agree by Chris9

for your replies I will try cutting the plants back and take my chance I took cuttings of mine last year and managed to keep two plants.  They are doing really well.   Watch out for mildew though, I lost 4 plants to that. by Sylvester2
