for your replies I will try cutting the plants back and take my chance I took cuttings of mine last year and managed to keep two plants.  They are doing really well.   Watch out for mildew though, I lost 4 plants to that. by Sylvester2

Plant cuttings?
what plants can I take cuttings of now? You can split/move herbaceous plants now though, providing your soil is workable. If you've any pelargoniums that you've over-wintered, then they could provide you with cutting material about now. If you took by Gardengirl..

Pelargoniums (geraniums??) in window boxes
and they will bloom all winter. Whatever you decide to do with them, take some cuttings just in case. Put them in dryish seed/cutting compost and leave on kitchen windowsill. by northchiel

Moving a Curry plant
I would like to divide and move a large curry plant. Is this a good time to do it If it is the plant I am thinking of it is  a shrub- you cannot divide a shrub. You can take cuttings- they root like lavender fairly easily-and if you move it now by nanna26

Cannot propagate new guinea impatiens
Usually I'm successful taking cuttings but......I cannot propagate my new Guinea impatiens. I remember someone saying a while back that he or she has successfully taken cuttings. Tried in water and in mpc but no luck. Was hoping for a good batch by Verdun

When to cut back hemerocallis foliage pre Winter
Finally got my day lillies to flower this year with loads of potash, but should I cut back all the spent foliage now or leave it to over winter?  I usually take all foliage on my perrennials down this month - just wonder if this is a bit too early by Beverley Jones

Overwintering
. Brian As most Osteospermums can only be considered half hardy, it's always best to propagate new plants by taking cuttings each year. This is preferable to over-wintering large plants. by Brian Bartlett
