to cut the flowers heads down once they had finished flowering. Plus, when I walked up the garden the smell of lavender was wonderful, having been released by the birds breaking open the flowers to get to the seeds. It is possible to cut the flowers by jollysue

at all. I have had success with the begonias, infact they are all still in beautiful flower. Do i cut them down now and take out of soil and dry them out before any frost sets in, im a bit nervous about loosing them, they are a mixture of tubers by Anonymous

Can I move my peony?
and moved with plenty of soil around it.  I also enjoy a piece of a divided clump my son gave me - but I am stumped as to what to do with my white tree peony that that has grown too leggy - What will happen if I cut it down to say 18inches.  don't want by Amateur82

`empty Plot
but would love some advice on what is best do do with it now as I dont want weeds to take over.  Thought of more green manure or weed matting till next year but would be nice to maybe try and grow something over winter. I am a real beginer by SarahTho

Sprout Protection

Front garden very uninteresting
