Louise Row - Clematis
I prune it ? Its looking thin near the bottom fat round its centre and sent up some more thin shoots that are taller than me and Im 6'1 ft. Perhaps you have seen this site, but they describe Louise Row as being pale mauve/white. It may help you find by greentooth

Advice on planting native hedgerow please
I'm developing a piece of waste land as a wildlife garden. I am planting a hedgerow on the long thin spit of land which runs behind a low wall by a footpath.    Next week 70 native hedgerow bare root plants are arriving. I cleared the weeds from by Helen Bang

Spraying grapes
In the "greenhouse job checklist" for this week (week 32, 30 July - 5 Aug) it said to "Thin bunches of dessert grapes and spray vines to ward off diseases". This was very timely as I've recently found a few of my grapes have gone mouldy and by geme

Pruning plum trees
A bit of a novice gardener!  Planted a new victoria plum tree ( St Julian A rootstock- it says on the label!) last autumn/ late summer and for various reasons it did not get pruned it at all. It has several 3/4 long thin branches, and is close to a by uglybug

, aphids,, and scale insects. Bark is thin and easily damaged by mowers and  strimmers. Reduce chances of disease and insects by keeping trees healthy with irrigation in extended drought and regular fertiliser applications. by Esther OHara

Christmas tree
I have a Christmas tree in my front garden about 8 feet high and about 8 feet from the house.  Is my house in any danger from the roots or do the roots stay fairly thin? Hi, Conifers don't have long roots. So, no problem. Rather, the problem would by JANE6

Shrubs
Please can anyone help me identify 2 shrubs. Both have thin arching branches and are currently flowering. (1) slim pointed leaves, masses of tiny white bus which open to tiny bright yellow flowers, the leaves turn red in autumn/winter. (2) coper by Sizeyuk1

I have a Cytisus ballandieri that has at some time (over 20 years ago)  been been coppiced, and all the plant is producing is very long thin stems, (up to 20 foot high and about 1/2 inch thick,) with leaves at the top and no flowers. The stems by barney2000
