how many petunia seeds into a cell insert?
. In that case I'd only put 1 or 2 seeds per cell. For other varieties you may get a hundred or so seeds in a packet, in which case you can be more generous. Petunia seeds are very tiny so it usually says "sow thinly" on the packet, so unless you want to fiddle by David 25

Spring onion looking garlic
February to May so I dont think it will get a cold season. Also it says on the packet to thin to 5 inches apart. I thought many would die but the whole lot have survived. Do I have to thin them out? See my previous line ""It says on the packet to pant..." I by indashaw1966@virginmedia.com

lettuce
mixed salad leaves for the first time this year. I sowed them in lines in the space where I intended them to stay and then thinned out the seedlings once they'd sprouted. I'm intending to use mine as baby leaf so I've thinned them to a couple of inches by KIDDY2

Talkback: Growing parsnips
they get going remove the smaller plant. Then pop the whole tube and plant into well dug soil in the garden. This doesn't disturb the plant at all (which they hate), and you can evenly spread them out without the hassle of thinning them. The tube will rot by gardeningeek

to go into the garden  - for this year could you thin out some of the branches so that you can 'see through' it and still get (and give) the benefit of the butterflies and bees - and then take some cuttings - then when your cuttings are big enough by firebird2110
