as I know. I have five to six year old aparagus plants which are sending up spagetti thin fronds of new growth all over the bed. Yesterday I picked off about 100 apsparagus beetles. Today there are just as many new beetles. Should I cut these thin new by bunnysgarden

Euphorbia amygdaloides-invasive?
with its base cut out buried in the ground -to stop it spreading? Or is it a slow grower and easily controllable in the ground with a bit of effort? It certainly spreads gillettemancs but if you find it invasive it is quite an easy shrub to thin out by gillettemancs

Beetroot
Hi It's been 92 days since my beetroot (Detroit variety) were sewn, therefore decided to pull one up to see if they were ready. However there was nothing, just some thin roots from the leaves. So disappointed as I thought they were coming along by Bettyslad

Spindly Bamboo
the plant. Perhaps you could thin out a third of the weakest stems and keep on top of any new spindly growth. Then next year, if the plant seems healthy and some stems are thickening, you might cut out a little more of the weak stems, and so on. I hope by Tim Burr

carrots
, but the leaves will probably turn purple/red then die. Best to sow thinly or in paper tubes, not toilet rolls though because they don't break down and can turn fungal or slimy - put me right off when it came time to eat them.  If direct sowing, I find by eddie3

Talkback: Carrot fly
my carrots, I,ll just have to wait and see.Lu. It's true - carrot fly cannot reach above about 18 ins but most important, when thinning or picking carrots try not to disturb the foliage too much and NEVER leave a bit of leaf laying on the ground by nigelpoole
