Iris Pallida variegata
Hi, I have some variegated iris's that are on the verge of finishing flowering, I'm not sure if I dead head or leave them to die back, will they flower again this year or is that it? You can deadhead to tidy, but there will be no more flowers from by notgreenfingers2

Alternative lawn
I am in th process of creating two raised lawn areas in my garden but would like to use something other than traditional grass, has anyone any ideas / advice.  I would like a neat and tidy appearance and it will need to withstand traffic as the herb by Joanne Shackleton

Kniphofia
I've done a reasonable amount of research on whether or not to remove the flower heads from Kniphofia after they have finished flowering, but can't find any information. Any thoughts gratefully received. Many thanks. I always remove mine and tidy by AKM8311

I found Bob Flowerdew's 'Bob's Basics - Pruning and Tidying' disappointingly basic, and I'm usually a fan of his by Phil Knight

Storms
with leaves and flower heads lying around all over, plus plant pots knocked over.  Have spent a couple of hours trying to tidy up.  Have had to throw away most of my annuals in pots as they were decimated. by lavenderlass

What we are doing this week
Today, I managed to do about 4 hours in my little plot, tidying up the flowerbeds, cutting back bits of the pear tree and chopping and bagging those bits to be kindling for next winter. What has everyone else been doing in the garden this week by artjak

our sheddies would love to see a few pictures of your shed over at http://www.readersheds.co.uk once you have cleaned it up.! Having good storage is one key element to keeping the shed tidy. I just got hold of some old coffee tins from the office by Rosalind
