Pruning
stems.    Removing any other stems to tidy up the plant or reduce size will reduce flower power as they flower on old wood so bear in mind that any new stems will not flower till their second year.  Thanks sotongeoff and obeli. A beautiful day here by sunshine in the garden

Pruning
My upstairs neighbours idea of a perfect garden is the slabbed over back garden and circular clothes drier. There is nothing planted in her part of the garden. Today she tidied up a year and a half's worth of debris and contrary to my request cut by hjalondon

Wild flowers not now mowed down
by being too tidy!  I would be interested to know whether other counties have adopted this strategy. I wish  what the council doesn't cut our farmer neighbour sprays with weed killer. There's a dead brown line round all his fields   What county are you by daydaisy

Sick Heucherella
. I tidied the plant up and transplanted with good compost and some bonemeal. The plant seemed to respond by spreading quite fast, but at the same time leaves kept turning orange brown, with shiny brown patches in the leaves which would then start by Pebble Garden

Cloud pruning anyone?
'll have to tidy up back there!     What a gorgeous tree! don't prune it...move the water butt I think lifting the canopy has been good  but I'm not sure if maples' growth habit lend themselves to cloud pruning - I think I'd rather take out some whole by quercus_rubur
