Talkback: Tasty tomatoes
have invested heavily in care (water, feed and plenty of air around them) but.......?? The tomatoes in my greenhouse have all died. I think it is blight and it even spread to some outside. Has anyone else had this problem and how can I stop it happening by marybakers

This is my first year of trying to grow tomatoes - will need to keep this blog and refer back to it. I do love this site, so great to just click the mouse and get so much free info! Did get blight last year and ruined the plum toms and affected by growing tomatoes

And then it goes on to destroy your tomatoes! Blight really is the word! Where are potato blight testing kit available from and at what cost? I used to be a fan of Belle de Fontenay but if there is any blight about they will get it. So it really by Frances M

Simon Yep-best thing do with it-as a soil conditioner Don't do it if you had Blight though, or at least, don't use the compost in areas where you are going to grow potatoes or tomatoes. I use all old compost, planters as a soil coditioner on my clay soil by Simon5

Favorite tomatoes
recommend that all tomatoes are grown in a greenhouse. Nothing is so upsetting as to see yur lovely thriving outdoor tomato plants decimated by blight. (well, almost nothing). I have grown loads of different varieties but the one I like the most is Alicante by John Reynolds

I and my fellow plot holder's also had a bad year with tomatoes thanks to Captain Blight, the only survivors on our site this year are in greenhouses, I wonder what i will be building over the winter lol What is wrong with our potato's. We grew them by supernanny

there in the same way.? well there s a thought!!!   I have had problems of tomato blight for the past couple of years and have now lost all my tomato plants again. I planted them in the troughs or plant pots. Kept well watered. Any tips for next year please Coralie by H7
