?thanks They come from South America and aren't frost hardy in my experience until the foliage is much more mature.  try giving it a good feed of liquid tomato feed to boost it in case the roots are still OK and can put up new shoots. I've tried growing these in my by patricia85

Gardeners told 'wash off compost'
as there are new gardeners coming along.  Bit like the 'can you eat the tomatoes you get on the potato plants' question, but still, better to ask about it than get sick I think. by yarrow2

netting brassicas
couple of days! great advice intend to use enviromesh over savoy cabbages this year If you haven't got yoghurt pots,how about small water bottles? I've been saving mine to use near tomato plants for watering. Now I am waiting for some fine weather to put by chicken!

can you have too much night
effect on the veggies. Just think of the extra gardening hours to be had!!! P.s What Island are you on? Miss B x It helps!. Many commercial growers keep their lighting on up to 24 hours a day for tomatoes, chillis, cucumbers, bedding plants, foliage by natures grafter

Ideas for planters on patio?
mix of dianthus and lavendar?  I'm sure the smell would be lovely as well as looking good. My favourite for planters and children are, tomatos, peas and strawberries. If your planters are big enough YELLOW courgettes.This way they can see things grow by LucyLocket5

potatoes for the winter
curve this year. I've had lots of courgettes and some peas a few pepers, onions lots of tomatoes,some cabbages too.  And have growing in deep pots (2ft deep) carrots, leeks and parsnips all seem to be doing well.. The purple sprouting brocilli got eaten by flowergirl4

New to this site
veg and flowers from seed? I have a small lean-to greenhouse and a plastic one as well. I grow all my veg and most of our flowers from seed, sometimes with success and sometimes not. Tomatoes (Sungold), carrots, courgettes and swiss chard did extremely by Pepperted

last years compost
I grow potatoes and tomatoes and cucumbers in pots and grobags abd potato bags and hanging baskets every year .At the end of the season I am left with half full bags pots etc of compost which I usually put on the garden.I am struggling to find more by bartonr
