Talkback: Growing early potatoes
,Nadine and Charlotte all of which except the Charlotte's I planted out on Mon 2nd of March.I know it sounds very early but its only my 2nd year of growing all my own veg.(just planted a cherry and plum tree - espalier style - very small garden ! Forgot to add by Pippa Greenwood

Is that a pic of the cat that frequents your garden? Scruffy looking so and so isn't he! We've had nothing but trouble from cats in our garden. They dig up our rare snowdrops, and leave unspeakable messes in their place; they chase the birds by happymarion

're quite sweet, and they really can't eat that much grain.However, I have unfortunately had an influx of rats lately, much to mine and my neighbours distress. Country rats I can handle, urban rats...I tend to think of slightly more disease ridden. All I can by catrincardiff

Composting and wormery
in contact with the soil, so can be next to the back door. That way no need to go down the garden in wet/dark weather with the kitchen waste & cardboard inner from kitchen/toilet rolls & used kitchen towels- no chemicals though in my case. I find by Sam Glendinning

, I have also grown sweet peppers, cucumbers, carrots and runner beans, garlic, and spring onions in large tubs in my small urban garden front and back. I have now cleared a small patch at the bottom of the garden evicting my five year old as she has by Sajid

I have two visiting foxes at present, one shy but one who just loves to sit and watch me work. My dopey squirrel is still around, the one who insists on going down flat to get under the side gate even when it is open. Having a very long garden by miss daisy
