Yes, they're a right pain in the backside - walking over the vegetable plot, seed beds etc. I try to keep them out but to little avail. What's the best form of deterrent - ultrasound, chemical sprays etc...?? we have foxes and badgers that come by gatehill

Hi Can anyone help with this? I am a very novice gardener, I hired a(non professional) odd job man to help me prepare a small vegetable plot so my kids could grow some vegetables. The thing is, when doing it, he found 3 wasp nests in the ground so by Zara2

Is my soil safe to grow vegetables on?
Hello, I am new to gardening.  Our garden used to have a septic tank and therefore a leaching bed.  It was removed at least 5 years ago.  I would like to have a vegetable plot on the old site of the leaching bed.  Would the soil be safe by now by frenchgardener

Chic Weed
How do you control/eliminate chickweed but without chemicals in a vegetable plot. I seem to get rid of it every year and lo and behold it comes back!!! The problem is that it will be seeding, so for best results you need to remove it before by Christopher Dennison

Has anyone used J. Arthur Bowers manure on their vegetable plot. The reason I ask is that I bought three bags from the garden centre yesterday and when I opened the first bag it was made up of wood shavings and well rotted manure (no smell at all by Jumiclads

Advice please on levelling a lawn
just hire a rotavator and rotavate the whole lawn (it´s not in a very good state) and then add top soil, section off the area for a vegetable plot, and reseed or turf the new lawn area?   Any advice much appreciated! Thanks. Before rotavating remove any by Pampa
