their soil is useful for my pots if only it was my lawn they raised.the mole in question loves to tunnel up and down my veg patch lifting everything in its path. Simon: Moles in the vegetable garden also tend to mean that the roots of the veg are dangling by happymarion

agree with all of this.I went to leicester market today,bought 2 large baskets of strawberries for £1;7 peaches for £1,peas,potatoes,all cheap and delicious.And my poor vegetables are either drowning or sulking in mud.Why do we do it?!!I'm afraid its by YewJay

? Magic! Lavender for instant aromatherapy. Clematis of various sorts, for their profuse blossoms. Ask me again tomorrow and I'd think of five more, no problem. And that's just the ornamentals, I could start all over again when it comes to vegetables by auntie betty

Peony Pruning?

Copper collars round the base of the plants.  It does work, honestly.  My sister in law has been using them with great effect in her vegetable garden, they seem costly but do last virtually for ever so can be re-used time and time again.  I grow around 65 by diggingdoris
