Vine weevils
I have an infestation of vine weevils in my polytunnel this year - they have attacked my grape vine and the weevils are crawling on most of the plants and eating chunks out of leaves and nibbling the stems, causing the new shoots to keel over. I by GillT

weevils do love strawberries! There's no guarantee the grubs won't eat the immature roots of your veg, but it might deter them (I've never heard of vine weevils eating carrots, parsnips and leeks). It's a good idea to lay a thick layer of gravel over by Tracey Curnock

Vine weevil are like the slugs and snails, the more one kills the more appear any suggestions as to how to eradicate them ? Nematodes don't work very well up here in North East Scotland, at least not in our garden, and the little pests are so good by Harry Sinclair

vine weevil
Over the winter my potted plants that have been sheltering undercover in the polytunnel seem to have become infested with vine weevil grubs - even my nectarine tree has the little white creatures in the soil. I can't water the pots with Provado by GillT

Vine Weevil
Hi all! I have just emptied a trough and found many vine weevil grubs in it. I have been checking the soil and squishing any grubs I found this afternoon (quite theraputic!). It seems a shame to throw away the soil and I was planning on spreading by Pamela14

VINE WEEVIL NEMATODES
I was wondering if anyone knew whether there is any point in using nematodes now, if I am not sure whether vine weevil is present or not? We had an infestation last Spring and the nematodes wiped out the weevil. If there are no larvae in ths soil by freshairfanatic

Talkback: Vine weevils again
For several nights in a row this week we have watched adult vine weevils try to get out of a garden spider's strategically placed web. The weevils are always gone in the morning and we doubt they have escaped. Well done spiders and aren't their webs by Chalkweed
