Talkback: Vine weevils
Here in the West Midlands vine weevils are alive and thriving. Despite every precaution taken with planting, using recommended chemicals etc. nothing deters them from invading every pot I plant up. Favourite plants seem to be heucheras and cyclamen by mothermook

help my fuchia has been eaten!
I noticed a couple of weeks ago that fuchias overwintering in my unheated conservatory had bits missing out of the leaves. Today the leaves have completely been eaten. Does anyone know if I can do anything about this? Vine weevils usually eat chunks by mucky

pests
. Would a generic insect spray used just before nightfall help? I had vine weevil in pots and beds, but used nematodes, which worked very well - grubs gone and eventually the beetles too, without having to spray. Good luck. The problem with the leaves by sile

fuchsia leaves
Can you check to see if vine weevil grubs have eaten the roots? I believe that fuchsias are one of their favourite plants. I agree with Kate - if they are in pots, tip an affected plant out and look for 'C' shaped Vine Weevil grubs by Trevor Challands
