vine weevil - the grubs, which look like white "C" shapes with a brown head, eat the roots, and plants will suddenly keel over.   Thanks I am going to have alook by Daphne Luker

. I would hate to loose the tree as it was a "significant" birthday present. Can anyone offer any help or cures. Many thanks That should read Acer ( predictive text) ! I'd suggest that you check the pot (if it's in one) for vine weevil and by Annette Leyland

a conservatory? If kept dry choc cosmos should survive. Are vine weevils the culprits? Can you try fleece? Are you in very cold part of the country? by Julia Barrow

Clematis for Breakfast
-stuffed pots inverted on a cane close to the plants. Earwigs will take shelter in these pots during the day and can be disposed of. vine weevil?  i had the problem too, last year.  i did have a lot of earwigs, come to think of it.  but i also had a lot of vine by GeorgiaI

damage to the leafs seems from the outside in and curling up at the edge. I know that it is in a pot but I would want to look at the roots. Damage to both the roots and leaves could be vine weevil??? thanks kate, i will have a look at the roots and send by milly1

Nematode Warfare
I have vine weevil in my beds (treated in March with nematodes - all good, vine weevils being shown the door) but also massive problem with slugs and have heard that there are nematodes for these little gits too. Can I water in slug nematodes over by freshairfanatic

lot more in the container. Not sure what the silvery worms could be, but if the grubs had brown heads and creamy bodies they may well have been vine weevil grubs. Yes, destroy any you find, as they'll be eating away at plant roots, but be careful by marylyn bridges

Problem with Magnolia
